Matt Pranter holds the Lew and Myra Ward Endowed Chair in Reservoir Characterization and is a Professor of Geology and Geophysics at the University of Oklahoma. He directs the Reservoir Characterization and Modeling Laboratory at OU. He received his B.S. degrees in geology and geological engineering from the Oklahoma State University and Colorado School of Mines, respectively, his M.S. degree in geology from Baylor University, and his Ph.D. in geology from the Colorado School of Mines. He was previously a geology professor at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a senior research / reservoir geologist with ExxonMobil Upstream Research Company and Conoco. His research interests are in reservoir characterization and modeling, sedimentary geology, and petroleum geology.
